Writing Update and LitRPG Con

Time is flying by so quickly at the moment. As the end of the school year nears, there is so much going on that work, life, and writing commitments are challenging, to say the least.

I completed further edits of Book 2 and sent them back to Podium, and also received the audio files for Book 1, which I have now finished listening to. Rebecca has done a fantastic job of narration, and I can't wait for its release.

On Friday, you may have also noticed there was no chapter release. The reason for this is that I was supporting a colleague in completing a marathon prior to the school sports day. The crazy fool does it every year, starting at 0430 hours (which meant a 0300 hours get up) and aiming to finish just after 0830 hours, when all the kids arrive.

In my complete lack of wisdom and insanity, I offered to be there and support. So, after walking and jogging 24km, I completed just over a half-marathon while he completed the whole thing! By the end of the day, I had covered 36.5 km, after a very long day of being out in the sun. On getting home, I soaked in the bath, applied copious amounts of ibuprofen gel to my already complaining legs, and fell comatose.

Saturday was a forced walking day to get my legs moving, so they wouldn't seize up completely, and I'm just in from a shorter walk with the hound this morning, so it's time to get back to the keyboard.

I will post Friday's chapter shortly, and then I need to complete the chapters for this week. As things stand, the next few weeks are going to be somewhat disrupted.

Mon-Wed - teaching and hopefully writing in the evenings

Thu-Fri - assessing students completing their Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme.

Sat-Sun - I hope to write as much as possible.

WC 14th:

Mon-Tue - teaching and writing in the evening

Wed - Packing and ensuring I have everything ready

Thu - Fly to Denver for the inaugural LitRPG Con

Fri-Sun - LitRPG Con

Friday - Two events planned

Saturday - Panel - Tropes: The Secret Sauce or Crippling Curse?

Sunday - Panel - Magic, Mayhem, and Mana Bars

WC 21st:

Mon-Tue Fly back to the UK

Wed - start of the summer holidays officially, and I will be hitting the word count as much as possible.

And then to top it all off, there are now only 30 days until Book 1 is released!

I can't believe it is so close now. My nerves are on edge, and I really hope that the launch is successful. I am just awaiting the final details for the Kindle pre-release to appear before I can start to advertise. I will also be eternally grateful to anyone who can rate and review on release day, as I know how much this helps with Amazon.

I keep having to pinch myself when I see my story on Amazon or Audible, where it has also now appeared. It's a dream come true and one that wouldn't have been possible without the continued support of everyone who is a member of Patreon and all those who have offered me guidance and direction since I started writing.

I will do my best to maintain my release schedule on Patreon over the next two weeks, but if not, I will ensure that chapters are released as soon as they are available, in advance of RR or WA.

I hope everyone has a fantastic couple of weeks ahead, and I will share some content from LitRPG Con when I have the opportunity.
